IGF-1 and muscle growth

IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) is a hormone that promotes the growth of muscle, bone and other tissue.

This trait analyzes your circulating levels of IGF-1, which influences how effectively you build muscle and improve body composition in response to exercise. Your circulating levels of IGF-1, which are partly affected by variants of your IGF-1 gene, also play a role in ageing, longevity of cells and your tissues' sensitivity to insulin.
